Middle of Nowhere
in the retirement home

The city is in constant change, from year to year it transforms, changes its face and color. The urban atmosphere changes, whether it be sonorous or visual, according to the passage and mixing of its inhabitants, the activities that take place there and sometimes the tragedies that are played out there. Six inhabitants and users of the city of Villeurbanne, residents of the city's senior residences, have testified here to their attachment to the places they have lived in, where they grew up, where they had fun, where they worked, raised their children, lived through war and urban renewal: a host of memories, images and impressions that continue to nourish their unique memories of these places. 
These places are sometimes, in 2022, barely recognizable or have become unrecognizable and are always changing. 
What remains is the story of Antoinette, Raymonde, Odette, Simone, Mauricette, and Anita who offer us their views from their childhood, their adolescence and their adult lives. May they be warmly thanked.

The images and sounds of the chosen places are of today, the stories that are told to us are of yesterday and speak to us of a city that has become invisible
